Tiles, ceramics and pottery made in Nasrpur, near Hyderabad Sindh, are replacing the ones made in Hala. The reason appears to be the fact that creating these traditional items requires proper learning. Amjad Hussain gave a boost to the traditional craft when after graduating from the National College of Art in Lahore, he returned to his home-town to first teach and then expand his skills into a business. The products made by his workplace beautify homes and workplaces – including floor tiles, food serving utensils and decoration pieces. They are also welcomed by shop-keepers in Karachi, who have found a large clientele for the traditional items.
