Saidpur Village Mirrors Past

Islamabad may be a modern capital of Pakistan, but tucked away nearby is the ancient and well-preserved village of Saidpur. Its mosques, ancient temples and Gurdwaras speak of a historic era when Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs lived peacefully together. Being a tourist site, Saidpur village also draws tourists for its handmade pottery and other crafted items. Given its historical significance, it was designated a model village in 2006.
