Afghans are being sent back in phases to Afghanistan, including those who moved here 40 years ago. These include Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders who moved here when the Russians invaded Afghanistan and the Afghan Mujahideen organized their resistance in Pakistan. They have bought land, built homes, have children and feel more Pakistani than Afghan. At the same time, temporary card holders are being deported in large numbers. The latter have an advantage over ACC holders, given that the United Nations provides them $350 on resettlement in Afghanistan.
