The post monsoon season has brought tropical diseases to Pakistan like dengue and malaria in large numbers. Mosquitoes gathered in stagnant water and uncollected rubbish, as well as close proximity to others contribute to dengue. The female Egyptian mosquito – which matures her eggs after feeding off human blood – have had a field day in biting humans. City hospitals have reported symptoms of high fever, lack of appetite and exhaustion. Doctors recommend little cure other than taking liquids and resting.  Prevention being better than cure, means using mosquito repellents, practicing hygiene and avoiding crowded spaces.
