Nuzhat Kidwai passed away at the age of 79 in Sept. 2025 An ardent feminist, she had deep empathy for the dispossessed and down-trodden. Her analytical mind was devoted to the upliftment of society and she devoted unrelenting efforts to see justice for the common person. As a founder member of the Women’s Action Forum, she pioneered opposition to military dictatorship. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, WAF and civil society mourn her passing away from their midst. In particular, condolences go out to her husband and life-long friend – Zaheer Kidwai and their daughter Ragni.
