A Turkish company has set up a mushroom lab in Pakistan administered Kashmir that teaches locals how to draw culture and seeds from mushrooms. Women have become top beneficiaries of the lab because they can cultivate mushroom seeds from the comfort of their homes and sell them to farmers. According to the research, investment of Pkr 1 yields Pkr nine in return. This income generation has in turn allowed women to become economically independent. It has also enabled entire families to work together to earn and increase the agricultural yield in their province.
