Motivating to Grow Trees

A group of young people are creating awareness about the importance of planting trees in Balochistan. They attract people through cultural dance on drums and unique ways to make them willing to plant trees as an Ashar (community activist).

A group of young people from Zhob and Lorali take steps to preserve the ecosystem. They title it the Ashar Movement, namely creating awareness about our sources of food and planting trees in various destinations.

People are coming together and planting seasonal trees in Balochistan since the last three years.

This movement spreads awareness, and numerous people inspired by it are planting trees in their respective homes, schemes, and areas.

They preserve planted trees and try to protect the wildlife that springs around it.

According to locals, Ashar played an admirable role in society. They have worked in Qila-Saifullah, Zhob, Mastung, and Qalat and recently expanded toward Mezi Ada and Chaman.

According to a research report by the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), Pakistan has one of the lowest percentages of forests among countries, where people clear 27 acres of forest land every year.
