Temperatures stayed 4-5 C higher than normal in Pakistan during the month of May 2024, reaching 45 C in interior Sindh. Even the Punjab was caught in the hot searing winds, as a result of which schools were shut down.
The heat wave stretched all the way from Philippines to Pakistan and was in keeping with a rapidly warming earth. Although Pakistan is used to extremely hot summers, combined with sweltering heat and hot, dry winds, it shut down normal activity.
