Asma Tabassum, a dedicated artist from Multan learnt sewing, embroidery and mirror work from her mother. But her real talent manifested in painting on fabric – a passion that is today her source of livelihood.
After marriage and children, her work took a pause. However, when her husband passed away, necessity reignited her passion. Determined to provide for her family, she rebuilt her career, gaining recognition both in Pakistan and internationally. Her intricate, handcrafted pieces have been admired globally, proving that skill and perseverance can transform hardship into success.
Asma’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, a reminder that financial independence is crucial for women, and a call for society to support skilled home-based workers.
As the saying goes, “ Hard work always bears fruit, and skilled hands never empty.”
