Unexpected, heavy downpour in Balochistan during February 2024 caused flooding of fisherfolk homes, damaged fishing launches and hit the infrastructure laid down for the China Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC). Experts said that the walls and buildings created for CPEC prevented proper outflow to the sea. Roads to Gwadar became impassable, obstructing normal transportation. In Kech, the water wreaked havoc and brought life to a standstill.
