Balochistan’s unemployment, already the highest in the nation, has been further hit by the Iran war. Educated youth have till now earned an honest, albeit dangerous living by carrying cheap Iranian oil to Mastung, Balochistan on motorcycles. Now, the US and Israeli war on Iran has completely stopped the oil from coming to Pakistan. Moreover, the price of Iranian oil has surged, creating shortages in Pakistan’s transportation and manufacturing sector. Without industry, the educated youth in Balochistan are now even more susceptible to joining terrorist organizations and waging war in their own territory.
