
The 8th Sindh Literature Festival on November 15-16, 2025, brought renowned and emerging writers, poets, artists and scholars to engage in vibrant discussions on literature, culture, history and social issues. In two days of the festival, participants from Sindh and other parts of the country heard thought-provoking sessions, book launches, poetry recitals and traditional musical performances that highlighted Sindh’s rich heritage and diverse voices.
The festival emphasized the unifying power of language in storytelling. In an era of rapid change,the festival brought together families to share pride in the promotion of Sindh literature and the preservation of its artistic traditions. Issues such as the shortage of water in the region and particularly the Indus Delta were discussed in the context of climate change. The role of intellectuals in showing truth to power was discussed in different sessions. In particular, folk songs were enjoyed by the youth, academics, nationalists and cultural activists in a pleasant atmosphere that enabled meeting each other and catching up with each other’s lives.
