Dr Naseem Salahuddin’s life is being celebrated in a befitting manner, as tributes pour in from electronic, print and digital media. Her zest for life was accompanied by a search for meaning, that translated into giving opportunities to others to grow. Her contentment from family life; husband who was a soul mate and children who bonded like friends gave her space to help the less fortunate. An unceasing thirst for knowledge in medicine turned her into a highly successful infectious diseases specialist. Above all, her commitment to the developing country in which she was born made her undertake missions in health, family planning, education and women’s empowerment with the seriousness that is required from governments. When thousands turned out for the last rites, their pain and agony blended into voicing a determination to continue her life’s work.
