Lok Virsa celebrated its 50th anniversary on Nov. 15–16, 2025, in Islamabad with a mela that drew hundreds of thousands of people. There were pavilions that featured handicrafts, wood carvings, paintings, fabrics, and clothing from the four provinces, as well as Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.Food stalls served specialties of the provinces, while musicians played and danced in the center of their pavilions. It was an opportunity for artists to showcase their wares and for traders to sell goods made specifically to promote local culture. Most of the sales were cash-driven, which tended to limit sales.
A large number of visitors from the region and internationally joined in the festivities that marked a blending of Pakistan’s culture.
