Art

A two day conference titled `Imaging Life’ at NAPA  organised by  Climate Action Center explored the intersection of art, culture, social struggles and the climate crisis.

The event featured the screening of Indus Echoes  ( Sindhu ji Goonj ), a Sindhi art film that showcases stories of migrants, farmers, and the River Indus – portrayed not simply as a resource but as a living entity whose rights demand protection. The message was clear: the river must no longer be treated as a product to exploit, but as a life giving force to respect. Shown after 28 years, the film resonated with the audience.

Discussants emphasized that climate change has turned daily living into a constant struggle. They urged a shift in both lifestyle and imagination. The dialogue affirmed that human creativity is our strongest tool, and through art, society can find awareness, resilience and hope for change in an era of climate change and wars.

A large number of women attended the gathering, which highlighted how art can reflect the realities of environment, war, and survival and communicate urgent issues in ways that science or politics alone cannot address.
