Pakistan based Kashmiris are feeling the pain of separation from their loved ones more sharply since India annexed Kashmir and deprived it of its autonomous status on Aug 5, 2019. On Tuesday, Kashmiris in Pakistan rallied against that move taken five years ago. Since then, they said, the Modi government has attempted to change the demography of Kashmir by replacing the original people with outsiders. Kashmiris on both sides have consistently rejected rule by India – and many here also resist subjugation by Pakistan’s military. For a start, they urge that both nations open the line of communications and allow Kashmiris on both sides to visit their families.
