The Sindh government has established courts in 27 districts to handle cases of gender-based violence. In so doing, it has taken the lead in prosecuting assailants, especially in domestic violence cases. This was the consensus of the government’s Human Rights department, which organized a seminar in Karachi in April 2025, to raise awareness about violence against women and ways to combat it. The overall stress was on encouraging a coordinated approach between police, courts and groups that assist victims, in order to build confidence in tackling women’s rights at the grass roots level.
