The Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) has been quietly bringing about a transformation in the coastal region of Keti Bandar, Sindh. In giving interest free loans to the women, it has facilitated their purchase of items for manufacture of consumer goods. Groups of women work to buy cloth and embroidery, stitching clothes for the public. Growing economically independent, it has allowed them to support the community when it is short of funds. At the same time, they have been opposing outdated social norms like child marriages and investing in health and education for their children.
