Khudee Café, established in Karachi’s Defence area is the first cafe of its kind, run by differently abled persons.
The Karachi Vocational Training Center and State Life Insurance have put up this successful project, where people who may suffer from handicaps operate in a self-sufficient manner to provide delicious cuisines for customers.
The KVTC first trains their students and then lets them showcase their talents as managers, chefs, cashiers, waiters and other positions at the cafe.
Interviewed by JB Connects, the trainees said they enjoyed working here and gained self confidence while functioning in the outside world.
Khudee (referring to sense of self) Cafe has successfully empowered its workers, enabling them to carve out their place in society.
