Beautiful birds and animals are sold as pets every Sunday in Karachi’s Empress Market.
They include numerous species of parrots, green parrots, Macao, Lorikeets, African Gray
and sub-species found across the world.
The birds are reportedly bred in the outskirts of Karachi, with Sindh Wildlife Department
keeping an eye on the creatures that are bought and sold.
The numbers of customers flocking to the market shows that interest in acquiring pets is on the rise.

A lot of customers like to acquire kittens, including green eyed Siamese one. In addition, puppies and dogs also attract attention.
For the sellers, the income is good, with talking parrots selling for thousands of rupees.
