Tucked away in Gilgit Baltistan is the tiny valley of Sadpara, which has given many mountaineering heroes to Pakistan. Prominent among them is Muhammed Ali Sadpara. He has spawned off a generation of climbers, where at least one person in every household wants to be a mountaineer. The region also supports jobs in households, where people become guides and showcase the beauty of their region. The mountaineering field has helped to economically grow the five villages, as well as given recognition as Pakistan’s premier mountaineers – both nationally and internationally.
