Baloch groups, banded under the Baloch Yekjehti Council, took their grievances directly to the deep seaport of Gwadar a week ago. Gwadar’s selection was to make the point that the Baloch are being ignored, despite the use of their land and its natural resources. The Gwadar Port and its related China Pakistan Economic Corridor has long been promised as a game changer for the nation. Historic numbers of women and children participated in the gathering, following which organizers have begun negotiating with the federal government on behalf of the Baloch people.
