Wonders of Cow Dung
Recycling cow dung to make biogas involves a simple technology that not only allows farmers to make gas, but also fertilizer for their agricultural communities.
A resident of District Lorali, Balochistan, Sayed Khan Nasir has begun to recycle dung from cows to fulfill basic human needs.
The end result is that trees that were cut down for fuel are being saved by his small-scale biogas plant. Apart from environmentally friendly biogas, he is getting high-quality fertilizer.
He uses only two cows to achieve his aims.
Indiscriminate deforestation has become the source of global warming as well as unpredictable changes in weather. Frigid cold weather keeps locals cutting forests for firewood.
Sayed Khan recalls the times when his area was green. “There were gardens and forests, but now district Lorali is barren.”
Sayed Khan Nasir addressed this issue last year, so that people no longer cut down trees for firewood.
