Krgyz mobs went on a rampage after a fight between Arab students and locals in Krgystan went viral.
The mob began targeting students from India and Pakistan who were enrolled in medical universities. They smashed their doors and wounded several Pakistani students, causing them to hide in fear.
Pakistan’s government strongly condemned the incident and has begun chartered flights to bring the students home.
However, a number of students have had to buy their own tickets to escape the situation and to placate their worried parents.
The situation grew serious after students were trapped in hostels, while violent groups roamed outside.
About 12,000 Pakistani students are in Kyrgyzstan, while around 900 have returned home after the incident.
The MBBS students have appealed to the authorities to allow them to complete their studies online, so their careers are not disrupted.
