Internet users have lost hundreds of thousands after clicking on online apps that set them a task, promising to reward them afterwards. As a result, in 2023 Pakistanis lost Pkr 25 billion through fraudulent apps like IDA and Java1.
Once the unsuspecting person loses their fortune they stop investing. But after every five to six months, a new app is launched, and the process continues with a new app.
Legal experts say that internet scamming is a relatively new phenomenon as a result of which people have not sought remedies in the law, cybercrime and FIA.
