In Quetta, Pakistan, a hidden gem has emerged in the form of the Quetta Book Café. Founded by two dynamic young men, Ali Zaidi and Muhammad Aman, along with the unwavering support of their wives, this café has become much more than just a place to enjoy tea, coffee, and snacks.
Over the last two years it has transformed into a vibrant hub of knowledge, creativity, and community spirit. Ali Zaidi, founder of the Quetta Book Café explains that their mission goes beyond serving refreshments.
“We provide a comfortable space for our customers to gather and, most importantly, attend training sessions.”
The café offers youth the opportunity to learn valuable skills in videography, photography, and social media management, and create engaging content for the digital world.
“We teach our patrons how to build and manage social media pages, create captivating content, and connect with their target audience,” says its founder. For Mekayal Ahmad Khan, a student and regular visitor to the Quetta Book Café, his first visit left a lasting impression.
“When I heard about the Quetta Book Café, I initially thought it was a place to study, read books, and find solace,” Mekayal recalls.
He found it also turned out to be a medium of combining education and relaxation.
A participant in one of the café’s training sessions, Sakina Rubab, emphasizes the significance of the educational opportunities offered by the cafe.
“Most people don’t know how to dive into content creation. They struggle to choose the right niche, create engaging content, and manage social media channels effectively,” she notes.
According to her, the training available in the café has simplified complex content and made it accessible for all.
Through their efforts, Ali Zaidi, Muhammad Aman, and their dedicated team have created the Quetta book café as a novel method to teach, inspire and give a sense of belonging to the local community.
